University Hospital Zurich blocks 100% of malware threats with Palo Alto Networks

University Hospital Zurich (UHZ), a major healthcare institution, faced the challenge of protecting its 13,000 distributed endpoints and sensitive data from sophisticated malware threats. To provide state-of-the-art medical care securely, UHZ needed a more effective and scalable endpoint security solution that could also support a remote workforce. They partnered with vendor Palo Alto Networks to address this critical need.

The solution implemented was Palo Alto Networks' Traps, which later migrated to Cortex XDR. This provided AI- and ML-powered protection that successfully detected and blocked 100% of malware threats, a rate 2.5 times higher than their previous solution. The results included minimized risk, extremely low resource usage, and the ability to effortlessly scale security to protect thousands of newly remote staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring uninterrupted critical medical care.
