UNINOVE Deploys Palo Alto Networks® Next-Generation Security Platform to Secure Access at All Campus Locations

Universidade Nove de Julho (UNINOVE), a São Paulo higher-education institution with four campuses serving some 120,000 students and staff and thousands of BYOD devices, was struggling with an outdated proxy-based content filter that caused performance, visibility and scalability problems. The university needed a high-throughput, cost-effective solution to ensure reliable Internet and application access across campuses while improving security and reporting.

UNINOVE deployed the Palo Alto Networks PA-5020 next-generation security platform, which combines BrightCloud URL filtering, IPS and antivirus with multi-gigabit performance and a non-user-based licensing model. The PA-5020 was simple to install, resolved performance issues, improved reporting and application control, reduced maintenance and licensing costs, and delivered reliable, secure access for all campuses and 120,000 users.
