A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
The State of North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) faced significant challenges in securing its vast network due to the rapid adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. These devices created visibility, risk, and protection blind spots, making it difficult to understand and secure the expanding threat surface. To support future IoT adoption and digital transformation initiatives, NDIT required a scalable solution that could provide complete visibility and increase security across all state institutions. They partnered with Palo Alto Networks to address these challenges.
Palo Alto Networks implemented its IoT Security solution, which provided ML-powered visibility to discover hundreds of thousands of previously hidden devices. The solution enabled NDIT to assess device risk and enforce security policies, significantly strengthening the state's network security. This increased insight allowed NDIT to better plan for and support its diverse user base, which connects between 250,000 and 400,000 devices daily. The partnership with Palo Alto Networks has been crucial in securing critical infrastructure and enabling economic growth initiatives.
