A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
Bank OCBC NISP, one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest banks with about 7,000 employees and 340 offices, needed to strengthen security while rolling out a digital-first, mobile and BYOD strategy that would let roughly 3,000 (and growing) mobile users access corporate data without exposing it to cyberthreats. The core challenge was to enable flexible, productive remote work while protecting sensitive banking data and meeting strict threat-detection requirements.
OCBC NISP deployed the Palo Alto Networks Next‑Generation Security Platform—including PA‑5060 firewalls, WildFire sandboxing (WF‑500), Threat Intelligence Cloud, URL filtering and threat prevention—to inspect traffic to the application layer and analyze suspicious files on‑premise. The solution safely enabled applications and mobile access, improved reporting and threat identification down to IP/name, halved the time spent managing network security, and accelerated rollout of new digital services, making the bank more secure, mobile and agile.
