Samaritan Ministries International keeps financial information private and secure with endpoint protection

Samaritan Ministries International (SMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages healthcare cost‑sharing for over 80,000 members and handles sensitive personal and financial information. Faced with the need for complete endpoint visibility, secure remote work, and faster, more efficient security operations to stop known and unknown threats, SMI sought a solution that would let the security team detect and respond quickly without disrupting business or user productivity.

SMI deployed Palo Alto Networks’ stack — NGFWs with Threat Prevention, URL Filtering and WildFire plus Cortex XDR (agent on ~700 endpoints) and Cloud Log Collection — and used a Citrix gateway to secure remote and BYOD access. The result was near‑real‑time detection and one‑click isolation of compromised endpoints, faster MTTD, reduced administration time, maintained call center continuity during the pandemic, and improved security team productivity.
