Robust Protection for Network, Cloud and Endpoints in a Challenging Environment

Minera Exar is an Argentinian lithium producer building a high‑altitude (4,000 m) production plant and operating two corporate offices. During construction the company needed secure, scalable connectivity for about 500–1,500 on‑site workers and remote staff while linking the plant and two offices, but its legacy firewall offered no network visibility, caused service degradation, and left bandwidth and cloud access exposed—challenges made harder by difficult site access and the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Minera Exar deployed Palo Alto Networks Next‑Generation Firewalls (PA‑220/PA‑850), Prisma Cloud and Cortex XDR with partner B2Cloud, using pre‑configuration and remote support to fast‑track installation. The solution delivered deep traffic visibility, analytics and content filtering, stabilized bandwidth, protected VPNs, cloud workloads and 400+ endpoints, supported secure remote work during the pandemic, and to date has prevented security incidents—leaving the network ready for operations and future IoT expansion.
