A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
Registers of Scotland, the public body that maintains Scotland’s property and legal records, had its paper-based registration process halted when pandemic lockdowns closed its offices. Emergency legislation allowed conveyancing documents to be submitted digitally, but the organisation urgently needed an automated, non-disruptive way to scan incoming files for malware to keep transactions moving without degrading the customer experience.
Registers of Scotland integrated Palo Alto Networks WildFire via API with an XSOAR playbook that automatically pulls files from an external share, submits them to WildFire’s cloud for analysis, flags malicious items and forwards validated documents into the network. Deployed in under three weeks, the solution now processes thousands of registrations daily, speeds up transactions, cuts scanning costs, boosted digital uptake (94% of applications received digitally in 2020–21), and strengthened overall security and compliance.
