PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), Indonesia's largest privately owned bank, faced challenges with its security operations center (SOC) due to multiple, unintegrated security tools and a lack of automation, leading to slow incident response and human error. To transform its SOC, BCA partnered with vendor Palo Alto Networks and implemented its Cortex XSOAR platform to standardize processes, integrate tools, and increase automation.
The Palo Alto Networks solution provided a comprehensive SOAR platform that unified case management and automated threat response with custom playbooks. The results were significant, including the development of 85 incident response playbooks and the successful handling of 740,000 tickets in 2023, with thousands fully automated. This led to improved metrics for mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR), greatly enhancing operational efficiency and data security.
