Palo Alto Networks Strengthens Threat Prevention at Telkomsel to Bolster National Confidence in Cybersecurity

Telkomsel, Indonesia’s largest telco with 168 million customers and 184,000 base stations across 17,000 islands, needed to protect customer data and maintain service availability while rapidly expanding online and mobile services. Telkomsel deployed Palo Alto Networks PA‑5200 Series next‑generation firewalls and Panorama network security management, completing a migration with minimal downtime. The platform strengthened threat prevention, scaled to handle spikes in demand (e.g., 3 million downloads and 500,000 concurrent users for a new streaming service), preserved user performance and SLAs, simplified centralized management and auditing, sped troubleshooting, and supported regulatory requirements such as ISO/IEC 27001.
