Case Study: RheinLand Versicherungsgruppe achieves stronger security, application and user control, and 40% lower admin costs with Palo Alto Networks

A Palo Alto Networks Case Study

Preview of the RheinLand Versicherungsgruppe Case Study

Palo Alto Networks Enterprise Security Platform Gives Major Insurance Firm Control Over Applications and Users and Bottom-Line Savings.

RheinLand Versicherungsgruppe, a German insurance holding serving residential and commercial customers, needed to better protect highly sensitive customer data across its network. With legacy Check Point and WatchGuard firewalls providing only port/IP control and many disparate security devices to manage, IT needed greater application- and user-level visibility, stricter access controls, compliance support, and reduced administrative overhead.

RheinLand deployed the Palo Alto Networks enterprise security platform—PA-4020 firewalls with Threat Prevention and URL Filtering in an Active/Passive setup—gaining detailed application, user and content visibility plus integrated threat protection. The rollout enabled user-group access policies, consolidated multiple devices, cut security administration effort by ~40%, saved about €10,000 annually, streamlined compliance and reporting, and improved overall network security.
