Moving to the head of the class with the Palo Alto Networks security platform

Los Rios Community College District, the second-largest community college district in California serving 65,000 students, struggled when its legacy infrastructure couldn’t support the sudden rise in remote work and distance learning. Unintegrated security tools left cloud resources exposed and a small IT team lacked the visibility and unified controls needed to proactively defend on-premises and multicloud environments.

The District partnered with Palo Alto Networks on a multicloud strategy, deploying Cloud, PA‑Series and VM‑Series Next‑Generation Firewalls, Panorama for centralized management, Zero Trust remote access and Cortex XDR for automated incident grouping and response, plus multifactor authentication for more than 50,000 users. The results: 20,000 threats blocked in a 24‑hour period, 7 million daily hits blocked from IP‑reputation sources, and 13,000 endpoints secured across 16 locations in five counties.
