KMG Rompetrol Improves Endpoint Security and Reduces Malware Attacks

KMG Rompetrol, a major oil and gas group operating refineries, retail and distribution networks across Europe and Central Asia, moved to centralize cybersecurity as it expanded virtualized and tightly integrated business applications. Faced with fragmented endpoint protection and limited visibility into malware infections, the company needed to improve endpoint security, threat detection and incident management across a heterogeneous infrastructure.

KMG Rompetrol deployed Palo Alto Networks Traps advanced endpoint protection across more than 3,000 workstations and 650 servers, creating a centralized “single pane” dashboard that integrates with existing AV tools. The rollout—completed over six months—boosted detection rates by about 15%, increased asset visibility, sped threat detection and remediation, and improved availability and user productivity, with plans to extend coverage further.
