Investors Bank optimizes the customer journey by moving branches to the cloud

Investors Bank, a New Jersey–based full-service bank with 157 branches across New Jersey and New York, needed to modernize its branch network to deliver a consistent omnichannel customer experience (including online-to-branch workflows and branch video conferencing). Its legacy MPLS/DMVPN infrastructure was costly, offered limited bandwidth, lacked traffic visibility, and couldn’t segregate or prioritize critical application traffic—all of which disrupted branch operations and customer-facing services.

The bank selected Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN to integrate with its existing firewalls and provide single-pane, Layer‑7 visibility (including HTTPS), traffic segregation, and symmetric performance. The IT team deployed Prisma SD-WAN to all 157 branches in four months with minimal disruption, aggregated connections to boost bandwidth, eliminated MPLS in favor of broadband with 4G backup, and prioritized application traffic—resulting in a 53% reduction in operating expenses, faster performance (enabling reliable video conferencing), and dramatically lower support costs.
