A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
Home Point Financial, a national mortgage originator and servicer, faced a complex IT challenge after acquiring Stonegate Mortgage: dozens of locations operated on multiple, incompatible WAN architectures and deployment methodologies (broadband, MPLS, hybrid, and varied UC and on‑prem/cloud app models). This fragmentation hurt manageability and caused inconsistent application performance across sites, especially for critical systems like Ellie Mae Encompass, Microsoft 365, and UCaaS.
By deploying Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD‑WAN with Instant‑On Network devices and application‑centric policies, Home Point built a unified application fabric that ties together diverse transports, prioritizes key applications by site, and provides end‑to‑end visibility into network and application health. The result was simplified management, improved and more consistent app performance, faster root‑cause identification of issues (reducing mean time to innocence), and the ability to consolidate technologies while supporting varied connectivity models.
