UNIVEG Trade Italy, a global distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables based near Verona, needed to protect its logistics-dependent network from increasing malware and unwanted traffic while maintaining high performance. The company’s legacy security was time-consuming for its small IT team and lacked the visibility and control required to ensure timely, efficient deliveries and secure remote access.

Working with partner NGS, UNIVEG deployed the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform—initially two PA-500 firewalls with Threat Prevention and URL Filtering subscriptions (PAN-DB)—and extended the deployment to its Spain site. The rollout was fast and straightforward, and the platform blocked malware and unauthorized users, delivered real-time traffic visibility and control, improved bandwidth utilization and application performance, reduced policy management time by 30%, and lowered costs by consolidating devices.
