Endpoint Security Improvements Prevent Cyberattacks on Zurich Zoo

Zurich Zoo, a modern conservation and education institution housing 370 species and employing over 200 staff, faced rising endpoint security challenges as employees increasingly used laptops and BYOD smartphones across three separate networks. With varied user security awareness and a legacy antivirus that failed to stop infections and caused problems after updates, the IT team needed stronger endpoint protection to reduce vulnerabilities and improve network uptime.

Working with local partner Omicron AG, Zurich Zoo deployed Palo Alto Networks Traps to more than 200 endpoints in half a day. The solution’s easy policy management and real-time detection eliminated endpoint virus infections, reduced vulnerabilities, improved threat visibility, prevented post-update incidents, and boosted system performance and staff productivity.
