A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), a 10,000+ student university in Taiwan building an SDG Smart Campus, faced rising and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Legacy firewalls and antivirus-based endpoint tools could not deeply inspect Layer‑7 traffic or provide real‑time visibility and alerting across network, host, and IoT devices, leaving critical blind spots for campus systems and research data.
Partnering with MCSI, NDHU deployed Palo Alto Networks Next‑Generation Firewalls and Cortex XDR to gain deep packet inspection, unified endpoint and network visibility, and automated detection and response. The solution uncovered and blocked previously unseen attacks, sped up investigations, reduced alert fatigue, and strengthened the university’s overall security posture to support its Smart/5G campus goals.
