Case Study: Bangladesh Development Bank Limited achieves centralized network visibility and rapid threat detection with Palo Alto Networks

A Palo Alto Networks Case Study

Preview of the Bangladesh Development Bank Limited Case Study

Bangladesh Development Bank Limited secures network traffic with an integrated network security platform

Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL), a state commercial bank with 50 online branches, needed better protection for its core banking systems and new digital services. Legacy, multivendor firewalls left the bank with poor visibility, no centralized policy management, and gaps in detecting advanced or unknown threats while also needing to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

Working with partner Gazi Communications, BDBL deployed Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls, Panorama centralized management, and Cloud‑Delivered Security Services (Threat Prevention, WildFire, Advanced URL Filtering) plus GlobalProtect for remote access. The consolidated platform delivered application-level visibility, automated reporting for audits, and stronger threat prevention—cutting detection and resolution from 2–4 hours to about 5–6 minutes, securing the core banking server and DMZ, and enabling compliant vulnerability assessments.
