Case Study: Asia-Pacific Government Authority achieves consolidated next-generation cyber security and simplified policy management with Palo Alto Networks

A Palo Alto Networks Case Study

Preview of the Asia-Pacific Government Authority Case Study

Asia-Pacific Government Authority of the Most Diversified Economies in Asia Fortifies its Network Defense with Palo Alto Networks® Next-generation Security

An Asia-Pacific government authority that provides shared internet and intranet services to 60,000 employees across multiple agencies needed to replace isolated security devices with a consolidated solution. The challenge was to secure shared government services with unified visibility and granular control over applications and content per user or department, while addressing internal concerns about running firewall and IDS/IPS functions on a single platform.

The authority deployed 14 Palo Alto Networks PA-5060 appliances with Threat Prevention and four Panorama M-100 management platforms across two sites, using Threat Prevention, IDS/IPS and URL filtering. The rollout delivered consolidated cybersecurity functionality and centralized visibility, simplified cross-function policy management with a single policy model, and improved per-user/department control — with a proof-of-concept proving the platform’s performance.
