A Palo Alto Networks Case Study
Ashok Leyland Limited, India’s second-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer with about 11,500 employees and a global footprint, faced increasing cyberrisk and operational strain as pandemic-driven remote work, a large dealer network, and decade-old firewalls created blind spots and frequent service disruptions. The IT team needed a unified, easy-to-manage security platform to inspect all traffic, consolidate multiple point products, speed rollouts of new sites and services, and optimize network costs.
After a proof of concept, Ashok Leyland implemented Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Access with NGFW, Panorama and VM‑Series, leveraging cloud‑delivered services like Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, WildFire, GlobalProtect and DNS Security. The deployment delivered consolidated management and full application visibility, secured more than 4,000 laptops and dealer traffic, cut provisioning time for new sites from ~8 weeks to 1–2 days, and reduced network costs by removing MPLS circuits—providing a scalable, modern security posture.
