Animal Logic is a leading independent creative digital studio with offices in Sydney, Los Angeles and Vancouver, producing visual effects and animation for major films. The studio moves hundreds of large media files (30MB+ and larger for 3D) daily and relies on cloud/SaaS tools, but legacy firewalls lacked visibility and SSL inspection—putting valuable intellectual property at risk while constraining artists’ workflows.

To solve this, Animal Logic deployed Palo Alto Networks next‑generation firewalls (PA‑5250/PA‑5020) with Threat Prevention, App‑ID, User‑ID, URL filtering, SSL inspection and WildFire in a high‑availability configuration. The solution provided granular, high‑performance access to cloud services, blocked known and unknown threats (including ransomware and zero‑days), improved bandwidth utilization and file‑sharing speeds, and reduced long‑term costs by consolidating security tools—protecting IP while enabling productivity.
