Healthcare Provider Cures Persistent Cyberthreats With Advanced Endpoint Protection and Dynamic, Integrated Threat Intelligence

HealthPartners, an award-winning integrated healthcare system, needed to prevent malware, ransomware, and advanced persistent threats from compromising its network to protect vital healthcare services and patient information. Their challenge was to find advanced endpoint protection that could integrate with a planned firewall refresh without requiring a prohibitively expensive hardware investment from their existing vendor. They turned to Palo Alto Networks and its Traps advanced endpoint protection service as a key part of their solution.

By implementing the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform, which included Traps, WildFire, and next-generation firewalls, HealthPartners consolidated multiple security systems onto one integrated platform at about half the cost of competitors. The solution stopped 100 percent of ransomware samples in testing and has since blocked over 100 cyberattacks in a real-world environment. The platform also provided granular visibility into threats and enabled secure network segmentation, which reduced the organization's PCI compliance scope.
