Visual Reporting Use Palisade’s @RISK to Help Danish Government Assess Risk in Major IT Projects

Visual Reporting worked with the Danish Government (Agency for Digitisation/Ministry of Finance) to meet new legislation requiring risk assessments for all government IT business cases over €1.33m. To address insufficient single‑point estimates in existing business cases, Visual Reporting partnered with Palisade and used Palisade’s @RISK to bring robust probabilistic analysis into the government’s project appraisal process.

Using Palisade’s @RISK at the core of an Excel‑based analytical spreadsheet, Visual Reporting implemented Monte Carlo simulation, structured three‑point estimates and standardized input/output templates. The solution produced distributions for Net Present Value and project costs, enabled consistent cross‑branch comparisons, and ensured compliance with the new law—giving the Danish Government clearer, measurable insight into monetary risk and better decision‑making thanks to Palisade’s @RISK.
