RoseCap Uses @RISK to Analyze Risk Levels of Direct Investment Opportunities

RoseCap Investment Advisors, a financial advisory firm focused on high-net-worth clients and direct investments in businesses and real estate, faced the challenge of valuing opportunities that involve many uncertain variables (rent, lease renewals, interest rates, capital expenditures and unexpected repairs). To analyze those risks and move beyond single-point valuations, RoseCap turned to Palisade and its @RISK Monte Carlo simulation software.

Using Palisade’s @RISK within Excel, RoseCap built customizable simulations that model the timing and likelihood of capital events, vacancy and rent scenarios, and other uncertainties to produce a dispersion of possible investment values rather than one number. The Palisade solution enabled RoseCap to quantify downside risk, simulate timing of replacements (e.g., 10–20 year ranges), and fold prospective investments into clients’ total net worth risk assessments—improving decision-making and taking the firm’s financial planning and risk assessment to a new level.
