Nighthawk Intelligence, a strategic advisory firm serving the banking/finance sector, was engaged to help a major electronics retailer’s financial services group increase profitability of its private label credit card (PLCC) and offset roughly $370 million in annual interchange fees. The challenge required rapid cultural buy-in and measurable proof the strategy would work within eight months; Nighthawk used Palisade’s DecisionTools Suite (StatTools, @RISK and PrecisionTree) to analyze the PLCC application process and marketing effectiveness.
Using Palisade tools, Nighthawk compared transactional data with StatTools to target marketing to high‑value customers, built distribution libraries and audited assumptions with @RISK, and mapped customer decisions with PrecisionTree to redesign the point‑of‑sale application flow. The initiative cut approval time from nine minutes to about 90 seconds, boosted PLCC issuance and utilization, and delivered nearly $250 million in accrued benefits within a year (interchange savings, financing income and enhancement services).
