For a client producing corrugated boxes with highly volatile demand, fixed plant capacity, and thousands of ERP inputs, Mettler integrated backend databases and BI software with Palisade tools — notably Evolver and @RISK (with RISKOptimizer used in prototyping) — to address scheduling and inventory challenges.

Using Palisade's Evolver and @RISK, Mettler built a system that forecasts sales with @RISK, optimizes production with Evolver, and stores results in the company database for reuse during simulations. The Palisade-based solution runs nightly on a 52-week schedule, continually adjusting production to daily orders so the company manufactures only what it will ship that week and has significantly reduced inventory costs.
