Hitachi Solutions uses Risk Analysis in the Manufacturing Industry with the @RISK Developer Kit

Hitachi Solutions East Japan, Ltd. in the manufacturing industry needed a better way to evaluate risk in supply planning, where demand, raw material prices, and foreign exchange rates can shift unpredictably. Working with Palisade, the company used the @RISK Developer Kit to support quantitative risk analysis and Value at Risk (VaR) modeling based on profit models and stochastic variables.

Palisade’s @RISK Developer Kit was integrated into a stand-alone C++ system with its own GUI, allowing Hitachi Solutions to analyze production, sales, and inventory data without relying on Excel. The solution helped the team visualize risk impacts with tools like tornado diagrams and improve forecasting decisions, enabling actions such as risk mitigation, shorter lead times, small-lot manufacturing, and better supply planning.
