GSA - Customer Case Study

GSA (the US General Services Administration) conducted a complex, $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) acquisition to provide telecom and IT services for up to 15 years. The multi-year effort involved hundreds of tasks, cross-functional teams, and the need to quantify schedule and cost risk, so GSA used Palisade’s @RISK software to inform decisions.

Palisade’s @RISK was used to import schedules, define task probability distributions and correlations, build a risk register, and run Monte Carlo simulations (typically 5,000 iterations) in real time for executives. The Palisade analysis enabled firm milestone schedules, tested mitigation strategies, and helped GSA complete the EIS acquisition on time and on budget—resulting in 10 awards and allowing agencies to stage resources to achieve earlier taxpayer savings.
