Cummins Inc., the global designer and manufacturer of engines and related systems, needed to standardize decision analysis across its Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) program to ensure data-driven decision making in new product introduction and quality improvement. To support this, Cummins adopted Palisade’s @RISK software as the standard tool for Six Sigma training and analysis across the corporation.

Palisade implemented standardized @RISK training integrated into Green Belt projects, training more than 400 people worldwide and embedding probabilistic forecasting into managers’ methodologies. The use of Palisade’s @RISK reduced forecasting error, supported a structured DFSS approach, and contributed to “hundreds of millions of dollars” in cost savings for Cummins Inc., with the trained cohort growing as new launches continue.
