Washington and Lee University Improves Donor Communication with PairSoft

Washington and Lee University, the nation’s ninth oldest college in Lexington, Virginia, faced an overwhelming backlog of 50+ years of paper records in its development office and needed an out‑of‑the‑box solution that would integrate with their donor system and stop staff from spending time filing. After moving to Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge, the university selected PairSoft to address accessibility, document capture, and integration needs.

PairSoft delivered a scanning and document‑management solution that integrated seamlessly with The Raiser’s Edge and had a very small learning curve. As a result, Washington and Lee eliminated manual filing, improved accuracy and remote access for about 20 fundraising staffers, enabled gift processors to scan and attach documents daily, sped audit document delivery from days to roughly 30 minutes (with future audits expected to take about 10 minutes), and freed office space—producing clear, measurable gains in efficiency and staff effectiveness.
