SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation Programs PRTG to Increase Customer Satisfaction and Availability

SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, Japan’s multi-channel pay TV operator and leading satellite operator in the Asia-Pacific region, needed a reliable way to monitor critical satellite communication services and shared bandwidth usage. The company’s challenge was to maintain high availability for broadcasting, enterprise communications, disaster recovery, and emergency lines, while understanding traffic patterns and the impact of peak demand on service quality. Paessler AG’s PRTG monitoring platform was used to help provide the visibility needed to support these operations.

Paessler AG implemented PRTG as JSAT’s main monitoring tool, replacing a previous RRD tool-based system to monitor traffic across satellite communication services, including WAN/LAN equipment and multiple servers/devices. The result was simpler operations, centralized dashboards, and easier visualization of traffic and bandwidth, enabling the team to make better capacity and service decisions. JSAT reported that PRTG was easy to install and use, had no problems, and helped improve customer satisfaction and stable operation through better monitoring and faster insight.
