The customer, RIEDEL Communications, a Germany-based provider in the IT & Telecommunication and Media & Entertainment industries, faced the challenge of monitoring a massive temporary broadcast network for the Eurovision Song Contest. With over 5,500 IP addresses and zero tolerance for failure, their midsized team needed to ensure every camera, audio signal, and data connection worked without interruption for the global television broadcast. To achieve this, they turned to the vendor Paessler AG and its PRTG monitoring solution.

Paessler AG's PRTG provided comprehensive monitoring via SNMP for all network devices, switches, and printers. The solution ran as a failover cluster to ensure continuous operation and utilized PRTG Maps to give operators a clear visual overview on screens across the press and production areas. This allowed the team to proactively address issues before they affected the broadcast. The successful implementation ensured a flawless live production for over 100 million viewers, and the post-event traffic data was used to improve planning for future events.
