Hume Bank monitors 19 branches and 47 ATMs with Paessler AG

Hume Bank, a customer-owned financial institution in Australia, needed greater visibility into its IT network to proactively maintain high availability across its branches, ATMs, and Eftpos terminals. The challenge was a lack of insight into branch network availability, with potential outages being discovered reactively by the IT team at Hume Bank.

To address this, the vendor Paessler implemented its PRTG monitoring solution across the bank's infrastructure. The deployment used local and remote probes with approximately 900 sensors to monitor everything from servers and routers to ATMs and internet banking response times. This provided Hume Bank with immediate SMS alerts for issues, allowing them to resolve problems before customers were affected. The solution from Paessler resulted in significant time and cost savings from reduced IT overhead and fewer outages.
