Case Study: Forsyth County Schools achieves lower-cost, extensible network monitoring with Paessler PRTG

A Paessler AG Case Study

Preview of the Forsyth County Schools Case Study

Fast-growing school system awards top marks for PRTG's affordability, extensibility

Forsyth County Schools, a fast-growing school system in Georgia serving 44,000 students, teachers, and staff, needed a more affordable and extensible network monitoring solution. Its previous system was costly, struggled to keep up with growing demands, and could not support custom sensors for complex devices and applications. Paessler AG’s PRTG Network Monitor was chosen to better monitor the district’s diverse, highly distributed IT environment.

Paessler AG implemented PRTG Network Monitor with 35 remote probes and more than 9,250 sensors to cover the district’s servers, switches, virtualized systems, load balancers, and remote sites. The result was improved visibility, earlier warning of issues, better performance, and easier management through custom sensors and automation. Forsyth County Schools also reported savings of about $16,000 per year, while gaining a faster, simpler, and more cost-effective monitoring platform.
