BAUER Group monitors worldwide infrastructure with PRTG from Paessler AG

BAUER Group, an international construction and mechanical engineering company, needed a simpler way for a small central IT team in Schrobenhausen to monitor its worldwide infrastructure, including IT and non-IT components across many branch offices. Its previous monitoring approach was difficult to operate and maintain, and some areas still required manual checks. Paessler AG’s PRTG Network Monitor was selected for its intuitive interface and broad monitoring capabilities.

Paessler AG implemented PRTG with sensors, remote probes, maps, and business process monitoring to track about 60 branch offices, more than 100 VMware hosts, around 1,000 virtual machines, and key systems such as email, SharePoint, SAP, firewalls, UPSs, and environmental metrics. The result was a central, real-time overview with automatic alerting via SMS or email, faster incident response, and earlier detection of issues before they became major problems—freeing the IT team to spend more time on new projects.
