Case Study: Tailwind Labs achieves unified billing, sales-tax relief, and optimized payments with Paddle

A Paddle Case Study

Preview of the Tailwind Case Study

How Tailwind Labs optimized billing and payments

Tailwind Labs faced unclear sales tax liability and the prospect of being forced to integrate PayPal directly—making them the merchant and increasing bookkeeping and audit risk. CEO Adam Wathan decided to move to a merchant-of-record, unified revenue solution and selected Paddle’s revenue delivery platform (including Comply and Managed Payments).

Paddle took on sales tax liability, provided Managed Payments (enabling Apple Pay and wire transfers) and rolled out Branded Inline Checkout, simplifying Tailwind Labs’ bookkeeping so the company only records Paddle payouts. As a result, Paddle removed Tailwind’s tax exposure, expanded available payment methods, and delivered a more trusted, on‑brand checkout experience that reduced admin and compliance burden.
