Smule secures 18TB/day of data with PacketFabric Space

Smule, a social singing app, faced the challenge of securely storing and managing multiple petabyte-scale datasets generated daily from its global user base. Their significant storage capacity across three data centers needed to handle 18TB of new data each day. Smule adopted PacketFabric Space to augment its existing object storage infrastructure.

PacketFabric implemented its Space service, which provides industry-standard data access via S3, NFS, and SMB protocols. The solution offers secure, encrypted storage with local erasure coding for resilience and optional cross-region replication. As a result, Smule gained the best attributes of cloud storage, including low predictable costs, while retaining full control over its sensitive data.
