A Packet Case Study

Supergiant - Customer Case Study

Supergiant, a Kubernetes and infrastructure company born out of QBox, needed a way to make its new fully managed, auto-scaling Kubernetes-as-a-service beta affordable to run. Its AWS-based alpha cost more than $30 per user per month, which made the free beta unsustainable, so the team looked for a lower-cost infrastructure option and chose Packet, including its Arm server offering.

Working with Packet, Supergiant deployed the beta in just three weeks and was able to pack hundreds of containers per server thanks to Packet’s high-core-count Arm hardware. The result was infrastructure costs of less than a dollar per user per month—under 20% of the AWS cost—plus strong support from Packet when server demand temporarily exceeded available capacity.
