Case Study: Resin.io Accelerates Native ARM Builds with Packet

A Packet Case Study

Preview of the Resin.io Case Study

Resin.io - Customer Case Study

Resin.io, a London-based IoT platform founded in 2013, helps customers remotely build, monitor, and manage fleets of embedded devices. As its business grew, it needed a faster, more reliable way to handle device software builds—especially for Arm-based hardware that had previously required slower emulation.

Packet provided bare metal Armv8 servers and worked with Resin.io to set up native Arm builds, including a custom kernel for RPI1 compatibility. With Packet, Resin.io cut build times by up to 5x, reducing Arm builds to under five minutes and expanding support for more user applications, while also benefiting from Packet’s strong hardware, connectivity, and straightforward API.
