A PA Consulting Case Study
Cambridge Consultancy Services (CCS) worked with PA Consulting to assess whether the Airlander 10 airship could be turned into a viable commercial venture. Their challenge was to identify the most promising market and sector for launching the aircraft, and to build a credible business case that could attract early investor support.
PA Consulting evaluated multiple potential uses, including haulage, tourism, surveillance and military applications, then developed financial projections and market analysis to narrow the options. After tourism emerged as the strongest opportunity, PA Consulting researched operating models and consumer interest, built pricing models, and helped CCS select Dubai in the Middle East as the best launch market. The resulting business case is now being used to secure the first tranche of investment, valued at $30 million, helping build investor confidence in the venture.
