PA Consulting worked with a global business services provider that wanted to improve the competitiveness of its cross-border business process outsourcing services. The customer needed to find ways to reduce the time and cost of tasks such as invoice processing and payroll, and was exploring robotic process automation (RPA) as a way to automate repetitive work.
PA Consulting assessed 12 processes to identify the best automation candidates, then narrowed them to a shortlist of six based on return on investment and implementation feasibility. PA Consulting also benchmarked automation vendors, recommended three leading options, and built an investment case for the preferred choice. The result was a clear path to automation expected to cut process costs by up to 40 per cent.
