AstraZeneca, the global pharmaceutical company, partnered with PA Consulting to transform its IT services over a three-year period starting in 2014. PA Consulting helped AstraZeneca redesign its operating model, bring IT closer to the business, introduce cloud-based software for sales, finance and HR, and modernize legacy infrastructure. The transformation cut IT costs by 30% versus 2013, reduced major service outages by 30%, decommissioned or migrated over half of servers, lowered outsourcing from 70% to 40%, and improved staff perception of IT from 56% to 75% in 2016.
