The Pensions Regulator (TPR) needed to keep pace with major changes in workplace pensions while protecting savers from risks such as inaccurate records, funding shortfalls, and poor trustee understanding. PA Consulting supported TPR’s transformation project with its experience in regulator transformation, business design, and agile implementation to help the organization become a “clearer, quicker, tougher” regulator.

PA Consulting worked alongside TPR teams to develop and embed a new regulatory model that set clearer expectations for trustees, expanded oversight to a broader range of schemes, and enabled more proactive intervention using automation and big data. The result was a more agile operating model designed to help TPR quickly make changes part of everyday business and protect more pension savers, though no specific numeric impact was provided.
