Case Study: Emergency Nurses Association advances digital nurse training with PA Consulting

Offering innovative digital training to help nurses provide excellent care

Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), the leading membership and continuing education organization for emergency nurses, wanted to modernize its largely classroom-based training with more innovative digital learning options. PA Consulting worked with ENA to assess its core training business model and identify how to add digital elements that would make courses more flexible, personalized, and appealing.

PA Consulting partnered with ENA’s leadership to develop recommendations for the future education business, including agile content updates, simplified manual processes, and pilot digital courses using technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality. The result was a roadmap of 20 priority projects to support ENA’s digital transformation and help it continue training more than 60,000 nurses each year, strengthening its mission to improve patient safety and emergency care.
