PA Consulting worked with NHS, specifically a national NHS organisation, to help the 200+ trusts in England and Wales make corporate services such as HR and finance more efficient. The challenge was to reduce costs and improve performance across these non-clinical functions so more funding could be directed to patient care.

PA Consulting delivered a national benchmarking programme for corporate services, collecting and analysing data from trusts, producing bespoke reports, and creating a solutions framework with tools, templates, and 37 practical schemes. The initiative achieved over a 90% response rate, contributed to NHS trusts saving £175 million in 2017/18, and is expected to drive hundreds of millions more in savings.
