London Borough of Barnet Making sure more vulnerable people than ever before can live independently with smart technology

London Borough of Barnet needed a way to help more vulnerable residents live independently while keeping social care costs under control. PA Consulting worked with the council to adapt the Argenti care technology partnership for Barnet’s more urban setting, making it easier for social care professionals to refer people to supportive assistive technology.

PA Consulting redesigned the service, trained social care professionals, and supported a culture change to make technology a core part of adult social care. The solution is now helping around 3,500 people in Barnet, and the Borough has saved £900,000, comfortably exceeding its £500,000 first-year target.
