Launching an award winning Internet of Things cloud platform to handle 24 million messages a day

Rentokil Initial, a global pest control services company, wanted to scale its IoT-enabled pest management service from 1,000 to 10,000 customer sites, but its existing infrastructure could not cope with the growing volume of sensor data. Working with PA Consulting and Google, the company needed a cloud-based platform to collect, analyse and share real-time device data more efficiently.

PA Consulting used an agile approach and six sprints to build and launch a new IoT cloud platform that now operates in 12 countries with effectively unlimited scalability. The solution supports up to 24 million messages a day, accelerated the rollout to meet the expansion target, and gave Rentokil Initial stronger insight into operations and customer needs, laying the foundation for its digital business.
