Keeping air travel safe by setting new standards in cargo security

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a major air cargo handler for leading airlines, needed to strengthen cargo security as the TSA tightened US regulations. WFS turned to PA Consulting to review and upgrade its existing security programme across 54 warehouses and help bring security to a higher standard.

PA Consulting designed and implemented a comprehensive new security programme, including an electronic system to prevent unchecked cargo from being loaded, a central Security Operations Centre with 24/7 CCTV monitoring, and a digital cargo ledger for all shipment documentation. PA Consulting also led culture change efforts, recruited more than 60 security ambassadors, and trained warehouse managers, helping WFS achieve a major security step change in less than 45 days and gain a strong market differentiator.
