Case Study: Guide Dogs for the Blind Association helps 6,500 more people with PA Consulting

A PA Consulting Case Study

Preview of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association Case Study

Improving processes to help support an extra 6,500 blind and partially-sighted people

Guide Dogs for the Blind Association worked with PA Consulting to address a growing challenge: reaching blind and partially-sighted people faster while managing rising operational costs and tighter competition for donations. The charity wanted to do more with the resources it had and expand the number of people it could support through its mobility services.

PA Consulting deployed five consultants over nine months to use Lean techniques, analyse where value was created, and redesign processes across the organisation. The solution included a five-year business case for change, closer collaboration with local organisations, breaking down internal silos, and simplifying processes with strong governance. As a result, Guide Dogs for the Blind expects to help 6,000–7,000 more people over five years, effectively doubling the reach of its previous approach.
