PA Consulting worked with the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) to address the urgent challenge of matching qualified clinicians to hospitals overwhelmed by COVID-19. Hospitals needed specialists with relevant skills fast, but existing processes created delays at a critical time.

PA Consulting helped launch the Clinician Matching Network, a nationwide clinician-to-hospital matching system built in an agile five-day sprint and go-live in just seven days. The platform eliminated lag between application and assignment, reduced manual effort, and expanded to other geographies and specialties; it matched 65 doctors to hospitals, recruited over 350 volunteers, and matched more than 25 physicians to a Maryland hospital within 24 hours.
